Once upon a time after I completed high school: I wanted to work in media to empower people and give a voice to the issues that matter.
My inspiration and motivation comes from doing work that makes a difference in people’s lives.
In 2000, I enrolled at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and did a diploma in Radio and TV production. While in college I got involved with an organisation called Cosmos Education. This opportunity led to a once in a lifetime adventure – we travelled by overland truck from Kenya to South Africa visiting schools, orphanages in Eastern and southern African countries. Then I also volunteered for United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) AEO for Youth project.
After that I worked for 5 years in marketing at a conservation charity in Nairobi, whilst working towards a degree in Sociology & Communication.

I relocated to England in 2009. And later, in my 30’s, motivated by the need to do work that impact lives. I trained to be a nurse and qualified in 2018 . I am now a registered nurse and a mother to 2 lovely children.

My blogs are a form of writing therapy to channel my thoughts, talk about issues and empower people. I am interested in health care, nursing, diversity, family life as well as love food, nature, gardening and exploring different places.
